Company retreats

Not retreat as in giving up, but retreating together to re-group.

Sometimes it is necessary for the company or a department within a company to take a couple days away from the office and just get back to basics.  Why:  maybe there is a new manager, re-structure of the department or company as a whole, key players possibility retired or there are some personality clashes.

It’s great to get away, air out the dirty laundry and then come together with a clear, clean vision and rally the troops to get ahead of the curve.  Regardless of it being a day, a weekend, or a week – lots can be accomplished in this scenario and building up the department as a comrade situation helps your team to really focus on the big picture when they get back into the office.

  1. Company retreats are about consolidation and management of power. Every aspect should be an exercise of it; just to communicate that we are up for this stuff and we are capable of handling this. Your very appearance there should exude that principle. If you can take yourself there with a chauffeur on a top line car, why shouldn't you? I mean, you know, prove something.
