Summer is all about barbeques, parties and family
get-togethers, so why not take note on some of these sensational specialty
drinks for any and all of your summer events, big or small.
1. If your having a
cookout with friends and family, but the men all want a simple beer, use this easy
and elegant recipe that takes that boring beer and tosses it to the wind!
Ingredients

3
bottle(s) (11.2-ounce) chilled Hoegaarden beer
1
bottle(s) (12-ounce) chilled ginger beer
1
thinly sliced lemon
Mint
sprigs, for garnish
Directions
In
a large pitcher, combine Hoegaarden with ginger beer.
Stir
in most lemon slices and mint sprigs. Fill 6 rocks glasses with ice.
Add
remaining lemon slices to glasses and pour in shandy.
Garnish
each drink with a mint sprig and serve.

Kerasi,
which means cherry in Greek, is the name of this elegant drink that is full of
fruit and of course lots of cherries.

ounce(s) cherry puree (just blend fresh pitted cherries)
1/2 ounce(s) peach liqueur
1/2
ounce(s) cherry brandy
1/2
ounce(s) lemon juice
Sparkling
wine, like Cava
Cherry,
for garnish
Directions
Shake
all ingredients but the Cava over ice and strain into a flute. Top off with
Cava. Garnish with a cherry.

Whether
your serving a bunch of little rascals or some more adult, and tamed monkeys,
the monkeylada puts a playful spin on the classic pina colada.
Ingredients

very ripe bananas
1
cup(s) diced fresh pineapple, plus 4 wedges for garnish
1
cup(s) pineapple juice
1/2
cup(s) "lite" coconut milk (see Tips & Techniques)
3
cup(s) ice cubes
6
ounce(s) (3/4 cup) light rum
Directions
Puree
bananas, diced pineapple, pineapple juice, coconut milk, and ice in a blender.
Stir in rum. Divide among 4 glasses. Garnish with pineapple wedges.
NOTE: when serving to the little monkeys,
complete the directions and addition of ingredients just don’t add in the rum
at the end.

While its still early in the summer season, that
doesn’t mean the heat isn’t already approaching fast. So to cool off and maintain
that bikini body here is an Iced Mint Green Tea recipe that is sure to cool you
off on those hot summer days!

cup(s) fresh mint leaves

green tea bags

tablespoon(s) honey
4
cup(s) boiling water
2
cup(s) sake, divided

stalk(s) lemongrass, for garnish
Directions
Combine
mint leaves, tea bags, honey, and boiling water. Let steep for 5 minutes;
remove tea bags. Refrigerate until chilled. Divide among 4 large ice-filled
glasses. Add 1/2 cup sake to each glass. Garnish with a stalk of lemongrass.
Nonalcoholic
variation: Omit the sake.
5.
Bomb
Pops were a childhood popsicle favorite, but this Bomb Pop drink is one that
should only be enjoyed by those over 21.
Ingredients
2 ounces (or 2
shots) of Bacardi
2 ounces (or 2
shots) of Blue Curacao Liquer
2 ounces (or 2
shots) of Lemonade
Directions
1. Fill a glass with ice
2. Pour Bacardi and Blue Curacao Liqueur over
ice
3. Stir
4. Mix in Lemonade
5. Stir
6. Enjoy!
