Festive Fever
We all know that New Years Eve is a popular holiday to have a wedding on, as well as celebrating the wedding festivities ass weekend long on Memorial Day. But how about all those other holidays that are our favorites. As kids we grow up loving the holidays, the sweets, the decorations, the parties, etc. For some out there they never forget those feelings and they dream that they will be able to recreate that for their wedding. I know what most of you are thinking, “Oh my gosh a holiday wedding, it’s going to be a tacky over the top soiree”, and yes sometimes that is exactly what happens. But we are here to help guide you and show you ways to keep it classy and elegant.
Let’s start out with Halloween. This haunting and spooky holiday is filled with ghosts, goblins, tricks, and treats. The bride most that most think would chose a weeding with this theme is the Goth bride, except more and more women are opting to have fright filled wedding. Below I have chosen two photo boards to represent this, each embody the theme, but bring about a different atmosphere to the event
The first one is a more sophisticated take on the theme; it pulls out the mysterious side to Halloween. Highlighting the black and bringing in accents of silver. It creates a whimsical feel, especially with the jack-o-lanterns, the top hat on the bride, and the bow tie on the groom. With the choice in colors the couple has created a soft, romantic feel, and the decorations add a fanciful feel to their big day. The second look takes a more literal approach to Halloween; with orange and black being the main colors, but they have gone away from the traditional ghosts and goblins. Instead, keeping it closer to autumn or harvest. Cascades of pumpkins decorate the outdoors venue, and rich fall flowers are used in the bouquets. A great way they accent the theme is in the invitations, it’s not all over the whole invitation, but in a small hidden accent under the lid of the envelope. This carries on into our next holiday. Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and give back to others. I chose a warm motif to represent this holiday theme. The rich fall colors create a loving and welcoming atmosphere to guests. The caramel and chocolate colored bows add hints of style and sophistication, the bows themselves are a feminine touch but the colors allow for some masculinity. As we all know leaves are a major part of fall, they are the inspiration for the gorgeous colors and they fall all around us. Incorporating them into the bouquets and flower arrangements can be tricky and doesn't always turn out well. But here they have incorporated them nicely. Adding them to the pillows with the rings and also having gold templates under the cupcakes. There they especially add a nice touch to an otherwise simple looking dessert.
Next comes everyone’s favorite holiday season. It is most defiantly mine. I think it’s the way people change, whether is be the weather, the decorations, the month long coverage of Christmas music, or the festive warm drinks that are debuted; holiday cheer is always in the air!
There are so many ways to interpret Christmas, and all of us have our own special memories of the holiday. Here are a few boards that I chose that I felt represented different views. The first one is a soft romantic look that uses shades of cream and light pink as their colors. With the outside covered in a fresh dusting of snow, the candles bring in the warmth and give the wedding that loving atmosphere. The second look takes a modern twist on a vintage Christmas; the colors are a rich deep red, a soft gold, with green and brown accents thrown in. The board has a sophisticated elegance to it, and the color choices are what bring out the main theme of Christmas. The fourth board I threw in because I thought it was fun and beautiful, I loved the chocolate covered candy canes and the fruit filled Champaign flutes. The writing on the invitations showcases the Christmas spirit well; the color choice and the calligraphy writing make it look like it came straight from Santa’s work shop. We wouldn’t forget the non Christmas celebrating folks, so I have found a beautiful, frosted blue and diamond filled board. That incorporates the color into every aspect of the wedding, even down to the cheese markers, and monogrammed napkins.

These are all just a fun assortment of pictures that give way to creating a fun and relaxed event. I could help including them; I thought they all looked so fun and exciting. Mostly I just wanted be a guest at these fabulous celebrations. These holidays are more about the party and having a good time with family and friends. So remember, celebrate with lots of color, keep it simple, and enjoy your day!
